PAS 6160 - Cross-Cultural Medicine

Credits, 2 sem. hrs.
This course examines cultural and language differences leading to health disparity, diverse ways in which societies throughout the globe view and manages human disease and the implications this has for health care and medicine. The focus of the course is on the development of attitudes and skills that will empower the learner to become an effective clinician in a variety of cultural settings. The course will serve as a foundation for learners to begin developing cultural competence. This course combines traditional lectures and directed self- learning activities.
