COU 6667 - Addictions CounselingCredits, 3 sem. hrs. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Master's Program in the specialty area of Clinical Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy, or School Counseling. This course will address substance use and other addictive disorders within the context of an integrative biopsychosocial approach to counseling. The course will consider contemporary treatment issues in psychopharmacology; alcoholism, substance abuse and dependence; and addictive behaviors, such as eating disorders and pathological gambling.
