COU 6501 - Legal, Ethical, and Professional Issues in CounselingCredits, 3 sem. hrs. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Master's Program in the speciality area of Clinical Mental Health, Marriage and Family, or School Counseling. This course introduces students to the characteristics, roles, and functions of the professional counselor with special attention to legal, ethical, and professional issues. The course affords a comprehensive overview of programs and services in professional counseling. In order to register for COU 6999 - Comprehensive Graduate Exam and take the CPCE, which is required for graduation, this course must be successfully completed with a grade of ‘B’ or better.
