SWK 312 - Social Work Research Methods

Credits, 3 sem. hrs.
Corequisite(s): MAT 207   or PSY 301  
This course provides students with instruction in the concepts and methods used in the conduct of ethical social work research.  The course is based on an understanding that the research process is critical to professional practice, and directly mirrors the problem solving process. The course will provide instruction in various types of problem formulation, research design, sampling, measurement, data collection, ethical issues and applications to social work practice settings.  Students will also learn to evaluate one’s own practice and will learn to be competent consumers of social work research studies.
