EDU 6557 - History of Independent Schools

Credits, 3 sem hrs.

This course will focus on the unique history and quality of independent schools from the beginning in 1968 to present day. Students will examine “independence” and why it is essential in the educational process. Additionally, students will explore the concept of Independent schools as ‘public institutions”, being supported voluntarily by families who use their services and by people who value their mission, their product, and their place in the community.
