Spring 2020 COVID-19 Grade Change Addendum

With student success in mind amid the disruption to teaching and learning due to COVID-19, academic policy will be adjusted to provide a Pass/Fail grading option. Students will have the option to keep the grade assigned by their instructor, or convert the grade according to the chart below. The Pass/Fail option will be available for undergraduate and graduate classes. It will be made available to students during the week after grades are assigned in the course.  This exception to our grading policy was approved by the Board of Trustees at the April 16, 2020 Session.

Courses that ended before March 12, 2020 are not eligible for this grade change option.  Courses include: 8-week session 1 classes (met January 13 through March 8, 2020) and MC-7 7-week session 1 classes (met January 13 through March 1, 2020).

Some courses/departments may have specifications around which courses can be taken as P/X/F grade and opt out as necessary for licensing or accreditation standards. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with their advisors or program departments.
